Floppy pure linen hand embroidered and monogrammed nursing shift.A large size, the shoulders slide off the mannequin so perfect if you want to wear something cool and loose.Hand embroidered white work scalloped edges.Mother of pearl buttons and hand sewn button holes on both shoulders (for nursing).Total length (top of shoulder scallop to hem) about 43", the hem is 1½" deep.34½" wide across front hem.2 triangular inserts sewn into shift with the most beautiful French seams.23½" across front arm holes.This is a magnificently hand embroidered late 19th century pure fine and floppy linen shift with the classic inserts as the linen was woven on a narrow loom.Have washed and sun-dried several times to remove the sizing, had not been used.Embroidered front bodice about 8" x 4", the YV hand embroidered monogram about one inch.
